Using The Snapshot Feature

Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) software. FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) has been replaced by FMX. See FMX documentation →

This guide explains how to use the Snapshot feature to capture live view presentations from your booth setup.

Overview

The Snapshot feature is particularly useful with AR figures, though it can be applied to other purposes as well. It captures the mirror's live view presentation as a photo.

Camera Setup

To achieve optimal results, you have several camera options:

  • Webcam: Mount at the top or side of your booth
  • DSLR Camera: Override Canon camera settings using the live view feature (test in your venue for best results)

Regardless of which camera you choose, select it in the Workflow tab under Live View and access the settings icon for that row. Consider adding external lighting to your physical setup if needed.

Software Instructions

  1. Add Live View Start: Begin your workflow with the "Live View Start" feature state to initiate the live view presentation.

  2. Add Snapshot Animation: Insert a "Snapshot Animation" state and load your desired animation. This animation will appear at the top of the live view and be included in the final snapshot photo. Optionally add a countdown animation afterward.

  3. Add Snapshot Photo: Insert the "Snapshot Photo" feature state.

  4. Complete Your Workflow: Build the remaining workflow as desired.

Important Note

When using Live View, feature states other than Video or GIF recording will stop the presentation. Add new "Live View Start" states throughout your workflow if you want continuous live view display.
