How To Use an External Screen
Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) software. FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) has been replaced by FMX. See FMX documentation →
Hardware Setup
To connect an external monitor to your iPad, follow these steps in order:
- Connect an HDMI cable to your monitor
- Attach the HDMI cable's other end to the USB-C to Ethernet Adapter's HDMI port
- Link the adapter to the extended USB-C cable (which runs through your V-Motion 180 arm)
- Connect the cable extending from the arm to your iPad
- Plug the iPad charger into the adapter's USB-C port
It is important to follow the steps in that order so that the iPad charger connection is the last step.
Software Setup
Once hardware connections are complete, configure the app settings:
- Open the Fotomaster application
- Select Globals from the left menu
- Choose your display preference and position settings
Slideshow Options
If you select slideshow mode, you can customize:
- Content type: Photos only, videos only, or both
- Presentation mode: Descending, ascending, random, or show last
- Timing: Adjust the delay between each item displayed
The external screen will then display your chosen content during your event.
