How To Share Photos via SmugMug
Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) software. FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) has been replaced by FMX. See FMX documentation →
This guide demonstrates how to share event photos using SmugMug, a third-party photo storage and sharing platform. Users can create a SmugMug account (with a 14-day trial option) and customize their homepage before selecting one of two upload methods.
Auto Upload Option
This method automatically uploads photos as they're added to a monitored folder:
- Download the SmugMug for Windows application and log into your account
- Access the uploading screen in the application
- Click the green "no local folders" text below your site name and select "Add"
- Navigate to and select your desired folder (suggested path: This PC → C: drive → MirrorMeBooth → Events → {your selected Event} → Photos)
- Photos automatically upload to a private folder labeled "Windows Auto Upload"
- Access the gallery and click the share icon on the right side
- Choose your sharing method: copy the gallery link or share via Facebook, Twitter, or email
Pro tip: If you want to be able to share the link with your client before the event, make sure to upload one photo to your Event folder and start monitoring it.
Manual Upload Option
This allows flexible post-event photo sharing:
- Log into your SmugMug account
- Click "Upload" and select your preferred option: new gallery, existing gallery, or multiple folders
- Access the completed gallery and click the share icon
- Choose between copying the gallery link or sharing through social media and email
Both methods provide straightforward ways to distribute event photos to clients.
