Managing Your Cloud Plan: Upgrades, Downgrades, Grace Period, and Cancellation

Updated Today · 3 min read

You can manage your Foto Master Cloud subscription at any time from Cloud > Billing. This article explains how upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and the grace period work.

Viewing Your Current Plan

Your current plan, billing cycle, and renewal date are visible in:

  • Cloud > Billing -- Full billing details and plan management
  • Dashboard summary bar -- Quick view of your plan tier at the top of the screen

Available Plans

  • Basic ($39/month, billed annually) -- Online galleries, AI credit discounts, event management, sharing, remote management
  • Pro ($79/month, billed annually) -- Everything in Basic plus custom domains, white-label branding, and best AI credit rates
  • Pay As You Go (legacy) -- No monthly fee, select AI features only. Available to existing lifetime license holders only. No galleries, no event management, no Cloud platform features.

Upgrading Your Plan

Upgrades take effect immediately:

  • All new features, storage, and AI pricing are available right away
  • Your existing events and data remain intact
  • You are charged only the price difference for the remaining billing period
  • No refunds are issued for unused time on the prior plan, per the Refund Policy

To upgrade:

  1. Go to Cloud > Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select the higher plan
  4. Confirm -- new features activate immediately

Downgrading Your Plan

Pro to Basic (Non-Destructive)

  • Pro-only features are disabled (custom domains, white-label)
  • All events and data remain available (subject to Basic plan limits)
  • No automatic deletion occurs
  • AI credits are retained

Basic or Pro to Pay As You Go (Destructive)

Warning: Downgrading to Pay As You Go permanently and immediately deletes all events and event-related data. This cannot be undone.

  • All events, galleries, and event data are permanently deleted
  • AI credits are retained
  • You must explicitly confirm this action
  • Consider this carefully before proceeding

If you're unsure, downgrade to Basic instead of PAYG to preserve your data.

Cancellation

Cancelling your plan stops future renewals but does not immediately end your service:

  • Services remain active until the end of your current billing cycle
  • After the billing cycle ends, your account transitions based on the cancellation terms
  • Cloud plans are cancelled from Cloud > Billing
  • Software licenses and support plans are cancelled from Cloud > Licenses

Cancellations and any refund of a recent charge are governed by the Foto Master Terms of Service and Refund Policy. See Refunds and Cancellations for the step-by-step request flow.

Important: Simply not logging in does not cancel your subscription. You must explicitly cancel from the Billing section.

Grace Period

If your renewal payment fails and you haven't cancelled, your account enters a grace period of up to 30 days:

During the grace period:

  • Online galleries go offline (not visible to guests)
  • Your account is marked for termination
  • You receive email and SMS notifications

If you update payment within 30 days:

  • Cloud access and galleries are fully restored
  • Service resumes as normal

If payment is not made within 30 days:

  • Your account may be terminated
  • Data is deleted per Foto Master's data retention policy

AI Credits and Plan Changes

  • Upgrade: All credits remain on your account
  • Downgrade (Pro to Basic): Credits remain
  • Downgrade to PAYG: Credits are retained (but events/data are deleted)
  • Account deletion: Unused credits are permanently deleted
  • Credits are non-refundable and have no cash value, per the Refund Policy

Account Deletion

Account deletion is an irreversible action that results in:

  • Permanent deletion of all events and data
  • Permanent deletion of unused AI credits
  • Loss of all service and license access

Tip: If you're considering leaving, downgrade to Pay As You Go instead of deleting your account. This preserves your AI credits and allows you to upgrade again in the future.
