Export or Import Layouts Using JSON Files

This guide explains how to export and import layouts using JSON files in the Foto Master Cloud Layout Builder.

What Is a JSON Layout File?

A JSON file is a portable snapshot of your layout's configuration. Use it to back up a layout, share it with your team or with support, or restore it in a different account.

Exporting a Layout

1. Log in to Foto Master Cloud and go to Presets.
2. Select your FMX version (Windows or iPad).
3. Open the Layout Builder for the layout you want to export.
4. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner.
5. Select JSON Options → Export.
6. Choose to copy the JSON text to your clipboard or download it as a file.

Importing a Layout from a JSON File

1. Create a new layout in the Layout Builder.
2. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner.
3. Select JSON Options → Import.
4. Upload your JSON file using the file picker, or drag it into the upload area.
   • The default filename is layout-minimal.json if you have not renamed it.
5. Click Import, then give the layout a unique name.

Importing a Layout from Copied JSON Text

1. Create a new layout in the Layout Builder.
2. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner.
3. Select JSON Options → Import.
4. Paste the JSON text into the input field.
5. Click Import, then give the layout a unique name.

Best Practices

• Always import into a new, empty layout. Importing into an existing layout will overwrite it completely.
• Name imported layouts immediately. If left unnamed, the layout will be titled "Untitled Layout."
• JSON files are plain text — safe to store, email, or attach to a support ticket.
