This guide covers advanced troubleshooting for the DMBot when basic calibration does not resolve inconsistent drawing or incorrect output. Start with a restart and calibration, and if issues persist, perform a factory reset to restore default settings.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Basic Restart and Calibration
- Disconnect the Bot from power and close the software.
- Reopen the software, then reconnect the Bot to power and the software.
- Select your Bot, click Calibrate, and test the drawing.
If this resolves the issue, no further action is required.
2. Arm Recalibration via Rotrics Studio
If the pen is still drawing outside the paper holder:
- Download and install Rotrics Studio.
- Open Rotrics Studio and connect the Bot via USB.
- Check for firmware updates. If available, update and retest the Bot.

3. Factory Reset and Manual Home Recalibration
If firmware updates do not solve the issue:
- In Rotrics Studio, enable the Terminal.
- Enter the following commands:
M502→ Send (Factory Reset)M500→ Send (Save Settings)
- Disengage the motors:
M18→ Send
- Manually move the arm back and up. Ensure the arm is centered, not shifted to one side.
- Set the new home position:
M889→ Send
- Return the arm to home automatically:
M1112→ Send
- Recalibrate pen height and test.
