Mirror Me Booth: Troubleshooting

Updated Today · 2 min readBeginner

The Booth Won't Power On

Check the main power cable is fully seated at both the booth and the wall. Check the wall outlet with another device. Look for a physical power button on the rear or side panel — some models require a press-and-hold. If the internal PC powers on but the screen stays dark, the display cable may have come loose during transport.

Touchscreen Is Unresponsive or Inaccurate

Restart the booth. If the issue persists, open Windows Settings → Tablet PC Settings → Calibrate and run the touch calibration. Clean the screen surface — smudges and moisture can interfere with touch detection. If guests report the touch offset is wrong (their tap registers in the wrong position), recalibrate.

Camera Not Detected in FMX

  1. Check the USB cable between the camera and the internal PC. Reseat it.
  2. In FMX, go to Global Settings → Camera Tab and click Refresh.
  3. Close FMX, unplug the camera USB, wait 10 seconds, replug, then reopen FMX.
  4. If using a DSLR, confirm the Canon/Nikon/Sony SDK is installed and the camera is in the correct USB mode (PTP or MTP, depending on the camera model).

Printer Not Printing

  • Confirm the printer is powered on and paper is loaded correctly
  • In FMX Global Settings → Printer Tab, confirm the correct printer is selected
  • Open Windows → Devices and Printers and check the printer shows no error state
  • For DNP printers: check the ribbon and paper are not misaligned. The printer LCD will show an error code if there's a mechanical issue.
  • Print a Windows test page first to rule out a FMX configuration issue

Photos Not Syncing to Cloud

  • Confirm internet connection (open a browser and load cloud.fotomaster.com)
  • In FMX, go to Global Settings → Cloud Tab and confirm sync is enabled
  • Check the Cloud dashboard — photos may be syncing but with a delay
  • If sync is stuck, press ESC to exit Experience View, then re-enter to reset the sync queue

Screen Has Bright Lines or Flickering

This usually indicates a loose display cable. Power off the booth and reseat the HDMI or display port cable between the internal PC and the display. If the issue is in a specific region of the screen only, contact Foto Master support.

FMX Is Running Slowly

Close all non-FMX applications. Disable Windows Update auto-download during events (Settings → Windows Update → Pause Updates). If the booth PC has been running for many hours, a restart usually resolves sluggishness. Avoid running antivirus scans during events.
