Photo Mosaic Wall Virtual (Online) Mosaic
Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy Photo Mosaic Wall software. The next generation — PMWall — is coming soon.
Note: This article covers the legacy Photo Mosaic Wall software. For the new PMWall, see PMWall Overview.
Setup Process
The activation involves four primary steps:
- Prepare your project with the main photo and configuration settings
- Access the Virtual Mosaic tab
- Enable cloud uploading
- Start the system
As photos are added through various methods, they automatically process and upload to the cloud while the mosaic presentation continuously refreshes with new tiles.
Cloud Upload Functionality
When you check the Enable Auto Upload to Cloud box, the system processes incoming photos and routes them to a designated folder. These files then transfer individually to cloud storage, with real-time upload status visible in the interface under Photos Uploaded. The mosaic display updates progressively as tiles accumulate.
Embed Code and Management
"For each of the Online Mosaic presentations, you have a code you can embed to your website using iFrame."
This allows sharing the presentation directly on web properties. The interface also provides tile listing and feature selection options specific to 2D Virtual Mosaic displays.
2D Interactive Mosaic
This viewer enables browser-based interaction with the mosaic:
- Users can zoom to a maximum tile size you define in pixels
- Original, unmodified photos display -- without effects like Green Screen, Opacity adjustments, or Colorization Correction applied during printing
- Removing
_useOrig=truefrom the code shows processed versions instead
3D Mosaic Viewer
This alternative presentation format includes an optional Show Focus On Tile feature, allowing viewers to highlight individual tiles from their browser.
Technical Note
The system requires modern browsers:
"The Online Mosaic does not work with the Internet Explorer browser."
