FMX for iPad: Starting a Session (Select, Sync & Play)
How FMX for iPad Manages Sessions
On FMX for iPad, a session is one complete guest interaction — from the start screen through capture, processing, and sharing. FMX manages sessions automatically: when one guest's session ends, the experience loops back to the start screen for the next guest.
The Workflow
A workflow defines the sequence of steps a guest goes through in a session. Workflows are created in Foto Master Cloud → Workflow Builder and synced to the iPad via the event preset.
Common workflow steps include:
- Welcome screen — greeting and instructions for the guest
- Countdown + capture — live preview with a countdown timer, then photo capture
- AI processing — if AI features are enabled, the photo is processed here
- Preview/selection — the guest sees their photo and approves it (optional)
- Sharing — email, SMS, QR code input
- Final screen — thank you / loop back to start
Starting and Stopping Sessions
- Starting: From the FMX dashboard, tap Play to enter Experience View. The workflow starts automatically.
- Exiting Experience View: Use the operator override to exit without completing the workflow.
Key Differences from FMX for Windows
- The iPad version uses touch-native UI throughout
- No keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+R, Ctrl+G, ESC) — all controls are via touch or tap gestures
- The operator panel is accessed via a tap gesture (not a keyboard)
- Some workflow step types available on Windows may not be available on iPad — check the Workflow Builder for iOS-compatible steps
