Selfie Wi-Fi is Foto Master's self-service photo experience that lets guests use their own smartphones to capture, enhance, and share photos -- no dedicated booth hardware required. Guests simply scan a QR code or visit a link, choose an AI experience, take or upload a photo, and receive their AI-enhanced result in seconds.

The system consists of three connected components: a guest-facing web app, the Foto Master Cloud backend for AI processing, and the Selfie Wi-Fi companion app that runs on a venue PC or Mac to drive slideshows and printers.

How It Works

Guest Experience

Scan QR code -- Guest scans a QR code displayed at the venue (or visits a direct link)
Choose an experience -- If multiple AI services are enabled, guests pick from a selection screen (AI Headshot, Style Pop, Draw Me, Line2Life, Face Switch, Combine, or Regular Photo)
Capture or upload -- Guest taps "Take Photo" (opens device camera) or "Browse Photo" (file picker) to provide their image
Enter AI prompt (optional) -- For certain AI services, guests can enter a custom prompt (e.g., "dressed as royalty" for headshots)
Confirm upload (optional) -- If enabled, guests preview their photo before submitting
Receive result -- After cloud processing, guests can view their result in the online gallery or via a direct media link
Share -- Guest can view the online gallery, see their specific photo, or upload another photo

Behind the Scenes

The photo is uploaded to Foto Master Cloud
Backend queues the job for processing (up to 50 concurrent jobs)
Image is rotated, resized (1200x1800 portrait / 1800x1200 landscape), and fitted
AI service processes the photo (if selected)
Overlay is composited on top (if configured in the event template)
The final photo is saved to cloud storage
If moderation is enabled, the photo waits for admin approval
If auto-print is enabled, the photo is queued for printing on approval

AI Services Available

Selfie Wi-Fi supports these AI experiences for guests:

Regular Photo -- Standard photo with overlay, no AI processing
AI Headshot -- Professional AI-generated portrait with custom prompt support
AI Style Pop -- Character-driven stylized artwork
AI Draw Me -- AI sketch/drawing from photo with body prompt support
AI Line2Life -- Line art to full-color AI transformation
AI Face Switch -- Face replacement/swapping
AI Combine -- Multi-element AI composition

Each service can be enabled or disabled per event from the Cloud dashboard.

Content Moderation

Selfie Wi-Fi includes a built-in moderation system:

Auto-approve mode -- Photos are immediately available in the gallery and for printing (default)
Moderation mode -- Photos require manual admin approval before display

Moderation Dashboard

When moderation is enabled, admins use the moderation panel in the Cloud dashboard:

Grid or list view of pending photos
Approve -- Mark photo for display and printing
Reject -- Remove photo permanently
Reprint -- Trigger a reprint of an approved photo
Bulk actions -- Select multiple photos for batch approve/reject/reprint

Tip: Enable moderation for public-facing events or venues where inappropriate uploads could be a concern. For private corporate events with trusted guests, auto-approve keeps things moving faster.

Selfie Wi-Fi Companion App (Display & Print)

The Selfie Wi-Fi companion app runs on a venue PC or Mac and drives slideshow displays plus auto-printing:

Slideshow Display

Polls Foto Master Cloud every 30 seconds for new approved photos
Displays photos in a full-screen slideshow on connected screens
8 transition effects: slide, zoom, flip, radial, cross-fade, fold, cube, ripple
Sequential or random transition order
Configurable timer per photo
Custom background color and loading screen
Video playback support

Auto-Printing

Automatically prints photos when they are approved (if auto-print is enabled)
Monitors for reprint requests from the moderation dashboard
Print queue with retry logic (30-second retry on failure)
Prevents duplicate auto-prints via tracking
Logs all jobs to printed_jobs.csv
Windows: Uses the system print dialog with auto-detected default printer
macOS: Uses lp command with fit-to-page

Local Media Management

Downloads approved final photos to a local Media/ folder
Tracks downloaded files to prevent re-downloading
Uses .part extension for in-progress downloads
Folder monitoring for real-time slideshow updates

Event Configuration

Configure Selfie Wi-Fi per event from the Cloud dashboard (Events > Selfie-Wifi tab):
