DMBot Overview
DMBot is a live robotic drawing experience that turns guest photos into physical pen-and-paper portraits -- drawn by a robot right in front of the audience. Guests take a photo, choose their art style, and watch as the robotic arm sketches their portrait line by line on real paper. When it's done, they take the drawing home as a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
It's part photo booth, part live performance, and it consistently draws crowds at every event.
The Guest Experience
- Guest poses for a photo via the FMX iPad app or Selfie Wi-Fi (scan a QR code to upload from their own phone)
- They choose their art style -- from realistic portraits to playful caricatures to multi-panel comics
- The robot starts drawing -- guests and onlookers watch the portrait come to life on paper
- Guest takes home their drawing -- a physical, handmade-feeling souvenir
- Optional: The drawing can be animated into a short AI video and shared digitally
The live drawing performance is the real magic. People gather around to watch, creating a crowd-drawing spectacle that no traditional photo booth can match.
Four AI Models
Draw Me Bot V3 offers four distinct AI models, each with different artistic personalities:
| Model | Style | Processing Time | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monet | Maximum realism, elegant line-art with high resemblance | ~10 seconds | Corporate events, premium experiences |
| Donatello | Balanced detail and creativity. Supports comics mode | ~16 seconds | Versatile events, brand activations |
| Raphael | Minimal sketch with fewer lines, fast output | ~20 seconds | High-volume events, long queues |
| Davinci | Stylized caricature with bold personality | ~21 seconds | Parties, festivals, casual events |
Donatello Model Highlights
The Donatello model is the newest and most versatile, offering three operating modes:
- Single -- Individual portrait drawing
- Group -- Multi-person drawings with balanced composition
- Comics -- Multi-panel A4 comic stories (see below)
Comics Mode
A breakthrough feature exclusive to the Donatello model. The robot draws a multi-panel A4 comic strip starring the guest:
- Guest names appear in the comic panels
- Custom plot selection -- guests choose themes or superpowers via a built-in survey
- Automatic twist ending generated by AI
- Branded content integration for corporate events
- Paper size: A4 (required for comics layout)
- Processing time: 5-9 minutes for a complete comic
- AI credit cost: Basic plan $0.25/generation, Pro plan $0.19/generation
Comics mode transforms the Draw Me Bot from a portrait machine into a personalized storytelling experience.
Drawing Details
Both styles can be fine-tuned:
- Detailed hair -- Toggle detailed hair rendering for finer or simpler hair lines
- Detailed beard -- Toggle detailed beard rendering for subjects with facial hair
Paper Sizes
| Size | Best For |
|---|---|
| 4x6 | Standard events, compact keepsake |
| 6x8 | Larger, more detailed portraits |
| A4 | Comics mode, premium large-format drawings |
You can also use branded paper with your client's logo pre-printed, making each drawing a branded takeaway.
Selfie Wi-Fi Integration
The Draw Me Bot integrates with Selfie Wi-Fi for queueless operation:
- Display a QR code at the venue
- Guests scan and upload a selfie from their own phone (no waiting in line)
- Photos sync to Foto Master Cloud
- Draw Me Bot receives the photos and draws them automatically
This eliminates the need for an iPad capture station and lets guests submit from anywhere at the venue.
Set up: Enable both Draw Me Bot and Selfie Wi-Fi under the same event in Foto Master Cloud, select AI Draw Me as the Selfie Wi-Fi service, and generate the QR code.
AI Video for Drawings
Static drawings can be transformed into short animated video clips using AI Image-to-Video:
- Supported AI video models: Seedance, Sora, Veo 3
- Drawings come alive with subtle motion and camera effects
- Videos are shared via QR code, email, or SMS
- Creates additional shareable content from every drawing
Multi-Robot Support
Run multiple Draw Me Bots simultaneously from a single Mac. While one robot draws, the next guest's photo is already being processed.
For fully unattended operation, add an auto paper replacement robot that automatically swaps completed drawings for fresh paper -- enabling continuous operation with a 220-sheet paper magazine.
FMPrint Integration
Connect FMPrint for enhanced print output:
- Before/After layouts -- Print the original photo alongside the AI-generated drawing
- QR codes on prints -- Link to digital assets, animations, or custom URLs
- Multiple booths to a single printer -- Route print jobs from multiple Draw Me Bots
External Display
Connect a secondary screen for the audience:
- Live drawing progress -- Real-time view of the robot drawing on a big screen
- Dynamic slideshow -- Grid-based display of completed drawings, photos, and animations with configurable columns, rows, and timing
- Branded content -- Display ads and sponsor content during idle time
Cloud Integration
Draw Me Bot connects to Foto Master Cloud for event management, media sync, license validation, and photo delivery from FMX or Selfie Wi-Fi.
Platform
- macOS only -- Native Swift/SwiftUI application
- Works with FMX on iPad for guest-facing photo capture
- Works with Selfie Wi-Fi for QR-based remote capture
- Requires a USB connection to the Draw Me Bot hardware
Ideal Use Cases
- Brand activations and trade shows -- The live drawing spectacle draws crowds
- Corporate events and galas -- Elegant portrait keepsakes for VIP guests
- Weddings -- Unique guest favors that feel personal and artistic
- Museums and permanent installations -- Unattended with auto paper replacement + Selfie Wi-Fi
