How to Import Videos to the VideoFlip Software
Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy Video Flip software. This product has been discontinued and has no direct replacement.
This guide explains how to import video files into VideoFlip software and create flipbooks from them.
Prerequisites
- VideoFlip V10 or later
- MP4 video files
Steps to Import Videos
Step 1: Place Video File in Correct Directory
Store your MP4 video file in the following location:
C:\VideoFlip\events\{Your_event}\Videos
Replace {Your_event} with your actual event name.
Step 2: Create a Thumbnail Image
To make your video selectable within VideoFlip, you must create an accompanying thumbnail:
- Generate a JPG image file from your video
- Place this thumbnail in:
C:\VideoFlip\events\{Your_event}\Thumbs
The thumbnail image should represent the video content and help users identify it in the software interface.
Important Notes
- Only MP4 format videos are supported as of V10
- Both the video file and corresponding thumbnail must be present for the import to work properly
- Ensure your event folder exists before placing files in the Videos and Thumbs subdirectories
- The thumbnail filename should match the video filename (with
.jpgextension instead of.mp4)
Next Steps
Once your video and thumbnail are in the correct directories, open VideoFlip and select the video to create your flipbook.
