High-Resolution Mosaic Not Generating or Not Compiling Properly
High-Resolution Mosaic Not Generating or Not Compiling Properly
Common Issues Encountered
Even if the activation process has already finished, you may experience the following when generating Build High-Res Mosaic:
- The high-resolution mosaic does not compile into a single image file
- The system only generates multiple tiled images instead of one final output
- The compilation process takes too long or appears stuck
- The final merged image cannot be viewed immediately
Where to Find the High-Res Mosaic Output
Once you generate Build High-Res Mosaic, the output files are automatically saved in this directory:
Local Disk (C:) → PhotoMosaicWall → Event → {Selected Event Folder}
Inside this folder, you will typically see:
- 4 separate image tiles (temporary output)
- These tiles are intended to be combined into one final high-resolution mosaic image
Possible Causes
1. Missing or Conflicting ImageMagick Installation
- Another version of ImageMagick or a conflicting “ImageMagick Display” software may already be installed on the system
- This can interrupt or slow down the image compilation process
2. Missing Pre-requisite Components
- Some required dependencies may not be installed properly
- In particular, ImageMagickDisplay must be correctly installed and functioning
3. Activation Status Not Fully Completed
- The system may still be processing background tasks even if the activation appears finished
- This can delay or block the final mosaic compilation
Situational Behavior (Normal Delay Case)
If the activation is already finished and the high-resolution mosaic is generated, but you notice that:
- It creates 4 separate image tiles
- The system is slowly combining them into one final image
- The final output is not immediately visible
This is usually normal behavior, especially in large activations.
Important Note:
- The larger the activation (more images / higher resolution), the longer the compilation process will take
- The system is working in the background to merge all tiles into one final high-resolution mosaic
Recommended Fixes and Workaround
1. Check Installed ImageMagick Applications
- Ensure there are no multiple or conflicting versions installed
- Remove or disable unnecessary ImageMagick-related software if detected
2. Verify Required Components
- Confirm that all prerequisites are installed correctly
- Pay special attention to ImageMagickDisplay, as it is essential for rendering and compilation
3. Restart and Proper Launch Sequence
If the high-res mosaic is not generating properly:
- Close the software completely
- Open ImageMagickDisplay first
- Then reopen PhotoMosaicWall software
- Start the activation again
- Generate Build High-Res Mosaic while ImageMagickDisplay is running
This sequence helps ensure proper communication between processes and improves compilation speed.
Final Note
If the high-resolution mosaic still does not generate or compile correctly after following the steps above, it is recommended to:
- Restart the computer.
- Recheck installation dependencies
- Retry the generation process in a fresh session
